HURRAY for WORLD OCEAN DAY!
June 8th – a day we loved to celebrate!
Apart from celebrating the WOD we were proud to announce that we are getting ready to launch Hrimfare into the water, but also to announce some very exciting scientific expeditions this season. As the Mothership for the concept Sailing4Science, Hrimfare is starting this season with a monitoring expedition for the DIVERSEA-project, an EU-funded oceanic biodiversity assignment, managed by the University of Trondheim, Norway, together with renowned European universities and stakeholders – sailing along the coastal waters of Sweden and Norway. Then we will continue for more expeditions along the coasts of Europe via the Atlantic and the Mediterranean Sea for a scientific assignment the Nexus-Monarch project in the Hellenic Volcanic Arc.
Check out more about this year's expeditions.

AN ICONIC SAIL RACER:
Hrimfare before:
Hrimfare was built in the early 1990s as one out of ten Challenge 67 feet steel racers, prepared for the toughest sail racing competition of its time: The Global Challenge – racing around the world "the wrong way" and against the prevailing winds and currents. She sailed four times around the world – with one professional skipper and thirteen amateur crew members onboard.
Hrimfare after:
Hrimfare will be re-launched in the spring of 2025 – after being extensively renovated and upgraded into an advanced research vessel during 2018-2023. Ready to welcome groups with up to 10-12 guest crew members onboard.
Expeditions are out for grabs:
What are you looking for? We offer expeditions for up to 10-12 people – scientific expeditions for researchers with great opportunities for monitoring and data collection, and pure sailing expeditions in calm and rough waters all year round. We also arrange insightful ocean workshops and exciting teambuilding expeditions. Plans for season 2025 are in the making – check out the Early Bird Offers if you want to be sure there is space for your team or yourself...and just want to pay less.
